FLOOD RELIEF WORK AT THALAMUTHUNAGAR, TUTICORIN

We are aware of the recent devastating floods that brought life to a halt in the districts of Tirunelveli and Tuticorin. Destruction was immense and many precious lives were lost. Fr. Jerome Mariadasan SAC, coordinator of social work, took the initiative to organize relief work for the affected. He was actively supported in this by the Cluny Sisters of Salem and Fr. Arockiasamy Santhiago SAC, correspondent of our Salem school. Materials consisting of sarees, dhoties, bedsheets, towels, bags, and plates were purchased for distribution. The contribution of the Cluny Sisters was indeed impressive. A special thanks to Fr. Bibin and Fr. Viyagappan who involved themselves in the transport and distribution. It is to be remembered that in the past a few of our confreres worked in this parish.
