            The Parish Priests and Assistant Parish Priests meeting held on 30 January 2024 at Pillar, Madurai, was a highly productive and insightful session orchestrated by the Provincial Council. The 18 participants, including Parish Priests, Assistant Parish Priests, members of the Provincial Administration, Finance Commission, and the Mission Secretary cum Coordinator of Social Work, actively engaged in discussions covering critical areas such as budget preparation, accounting procedures, FCRA amendments, social work projects, mass intentions, chronicle documentation, and document preservation.
            Commencing with a prayer and a welcome address by the Vice-Provincial, the session included enlightening presentations. Mr. Charles Fernando, Auditor provided a comprehensive understanding of issues related to the receipt and distribution of foreign funds, emphasizing recent FCRA amendments. His elucidation clarified the implications and compliance requirements associated with foreign contributions.
              The Provincial Bursar underscored the importance of celebrating mass intentions and maintaining accurate records. Insights into parish self-sufficiency were shared, emphasizing the need for generating local income for sustained growth and efficient financial management of the Province.
            The Mission Secretary expressed gratitude to all parish priests for their collaboration in collecting mission funds. Updates on ongoing projects, including ‘Pallotti’s Bread for the Poor’ and initiatives supporting the elderly, highlighted the collective commitment to charitable causes and community welfare.
           The Provincial Rector, in his address, fostered a fruitful discussion and emphasized the importance of maintaining accurate and comprehensive chronicles to document the historical journey and milestones of each parish. Suggestions were welcomed, and the meeting concluded with a sense of shared responsibility and commitment to the welfare and development of the parishes.
             Fr. Selvaraj expressed gratitude to all participants for their active involvement, underscoring the importance of collective efforts in steering the parishes toward continued growth and success. The meeting concluded with prayer, followed by a fellowship meal.
